As many of the readers of my blog already know: in the past 18 months I have 30kg accepted!

At this point I would like to emphasize once again without starving for it. I wrote before that I used the low-carb method. However, without really going into detail about it.

Why low carb?

It's simple: to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you take in! That's not just a strong saying, that's just logical. The nice thing is that there are an incredible number of recipes and ideas for low-carb nutrition on the Internet and that you can eat almost an infinite amount of the food you eat. For example, it wasn't difficult for me at all to have to go without rice, potatoes or noodles for lunch.
With low-carb, you simply omit these carbohydrate suppliers or replace them with alternatives (I will come to that later). Of course, I can only recommend avoiding fat and sugar as much as possible. Fat goes straight into fat, BASTA! Industrial sugar also goes straight into the fat and other sugars are not quite as bad, but they are rich in carbohydrates.

What was my day like?

Breakfast: Honestly, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! So it was clear to me from the start that I wouldn't let my breakfast be spoiled. I continued (and I still do) had a hearty breakfast. White rolls, cheese, sausage... My wife just shook her head: "So you want to lose weight?"
"Yes!" and it worked. But I have to admit that I have now switched from wheat to spelled rolls. Not because I think I have to, but because my tastes just changed. The things are extremely tasty and by the way: Also light, nothing with whole grain.
For lunch, simply leave out carbohydrates such as rice, pasta or potatoes and replace them with vegetables. The famous zucchini noodles are also very good as a substitute. Those things are so delicious! If you can't buy it, you have to shoot it yourself. But it's very simple. (Recipe for zucchini noodles)
For dinner there was a salad, a protein shake, meat or fish. This is really tasty and much better than bread.

In general, the following must be observed:

Noodles are evil! Unless it's whole grain pasta. Potatoes, on the other hand, can certainly be eaten, but not mountains of them. They don't have as much energy as you might think. As an absolute superfood have Chia seeds proven. I particularly like them in smoothies and muesli. Chia seeds are high in fiber, minerals and vitamins. Look at mine Chia seed recipes, you will love them!
This form of nutrition and exercise - preferably sport - makes the pounds tumble.

Please note

  1. Weight loss is a gradual but reliable process. It doesn't happen overnight and that would also be very unhealthy, definitely don't go hungry!!! When you starve, you start to break down your valuable muscles and not the fat that's supposed to go away.
  2. Carbohydrates are important, even vital! Never give it up completely. Make sure you are prepared for the day.
  3. Get enough protein! Fish, poultry, eggs or a protein drink are great for the evening.
