Racing bikes are very trendy, healthy and now socially acceptable

A month ago I saw one of those famous photos with text on Facebook, the ones that are always meant to encourage sharing. It said: Racing bikes are the new golfing!

This saying has been stuck in my head ever since, because somehow I'm in the process of confirming it.
I changed my employer about a month ago and you start to get to know a lot of people all over again. At my new job I got to know at least 30 passionate cyclists. Mostly tourers and mountain bikers - also some racers - and of course road bikers. I was already connected to one of them on Strava, who then recognized me from my profile photo when I was in his office at the beginning. That as an anecdote!
I really have to say that there are more road cyclists among us. In the meantime even a few old friends of mine have started and that's a good thing. Most people start out because they just want to get fitter and losing some weight wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course, the racing bike is not the ultimate weapon against body fat, but it helps to get the circulation going again and thus give the starting signal for an active and conscious life.
It was very similar with me. I didn't want to lose weight at the time, but now - after 1,5 years - I've lost almost 30 kg. Of course also with other sports, but the road bike has reawakened this passion in me and love nothing more than to sit on the bike.
Since racing bikes are now so IN again, I no longer get any stupid jokes when I walk through the office in my biker outfit after work, because I jump on my bike for a training session. Cycling shorts and racing bikes are today's golf bags! In my opinion, a very nice trend and with a bigger one Bicycle lobby in Hamburg maybe we'll get more proper cycle paths soon, because most are an impertinence (especially for racing bikes). If things continue like this, Hamburg might soon be like Amsterdam. Cyclists always have the right of way, a fixed place on the road and, above all, more space on the road. Then and only then will more and more motorists switch to bicycles. Because with the little space available to us cyclists, the journey to work often becomes stressful.
On that note, Ray!
