Cycling races in City Nord and VELOHamburg in the Rindermarkthalle: This weekend (May 13th and 14th) Hamburg is all about cycling. Big or small, racing cyclists or mountain bikers: VELOHamburg in particular will have something for everyone.
City-Nord cycling days
For the eleventh time they find City-Nord cycling days held in Hamburg. This is mainly about the Hamburg championship of company sports clubs, but there are also plenty of races for everyone. Furthermore, I did not see any posters or other references to the event in Hamburg. From this I conclude that the BSV would like to keep the City-Nord cycling days rather small.
However, the weather forecast for the weekend is more than poor: rain, thunderstorms and more rain should accompany us at the weekend. At least at about 20°C. I hope, in the interest of the organizers and of course in my own interest, that the weather report is wrong again. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a fair-weather driver, but dry is nicer. Just because of the road conditions, I wish for a dry road surface.
VELOHamburg
The VELOHamburg takes place for the first time in Hamburg. When VELO Berlin and VELOFrankfurt However, they have been around for a long time in Berlin and Frankfurt. above 160 brands should be waiting for visitors around the Rindermakthalle. Partly covered - probably on the parking deck - and partly open air. Of course we wish good weather for the open air exhibitors.
If you read the list of exhibitors, you can quickly see that the VELOHamburg is an all-round event. Nevertheless, I hope for some highlights for me as a racing cyclist. Even if the offer will definitely be a bit small for me, it is definitely a nice trip for the family. Admission EUR 6,- (children up to 14 years free).
Summary of the weekend
My road bike weekend is saved. Only on Saturday the 40km at the City-Nord cycling days tear it off and then go to the Rindermarkthalle on Sunday VELOHamburg.
Maybe Hamburg will become a real bicycle city after all.
